Auto Electrical and Mobile Electrical Principles combines the practical hands-on experience of the workplace with the knowledge and understanding and practical skills gained in the college classroom and workshops. It also permits various pathways that include Light Vehicle Maintenance & Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair, This qualification forms the knowledge component (technical certificate) of the IMI SSC Maintenance and Repair Apprenticeship framework (for Auto Electrical and Mobile Elec Principles)

The assessment is made up of two components:

• IMI Practical tasks
• IMI Online testing
