Course Content
The Level 3 Certificate in Leadership and Management is ideal for individuals who have management responsibilities but no formal training and are serious about developing their abilities. It particularly supports practising team leaders seeking to move up to the next level of management, and managers who need to lead people though organisational change, budget cuts or other pressures. It also supports new or aspiring team leaders - helping them make the transition from working in a team to leading a team.
The qualification is made up of a wide range of units covering core management skills: such as understanding how to organise and motivate plus skills in communication, team leadership, change, giving briefings and managing people and relationships. It is especially suited to team leaders who want to move up to the next level of management or for those who need to lead teams through change. The programme will help you to be an effective and confident first line manager.
Core Modules
The programme has 3 ILM Units:
Module 1: Understanding how to establish an effective team.
Module 2: Develop yourself and others.
Module 3: Understanding conflict in the work place.
Whilst ILM offer flexibility in the choice of units, based on current research into leadership requirements in the workplace, Northern Regional College have identified these units to help develop key skills.
Assessment Methods
Knowledge, understanding and application to industry will be principally assessed through written assignments, presentations, and professional discussions. There are no formal examinations.
