Additional fees: There will be additional membership fees paid directly to CIPD. Candidates with an existing CIPD qualification may already have membership but candidates will be subject to a joining fee. Please refer to the www.cipd.co.uk website for further information in relation to fees. All fees are set in accordance with DfE regulations.
Course Content
This qualification builds on the CIPD Level 3 Foundation Certificate in People Practice and is aimed at further expanding learners’ independent practice to enable them to evolve into more senior roles within organisations as people professionals. Learners’ work will be mainly operational with some complexity.
They will contribute to the thinking around their work, analysing information to inform choices and actions. Working with and influencing others through their work will create short-term value for a wider audience. Using a framework of HR and L&D understanding, behaviours and skills development, this qualification offers opportunity for learners to transition to employment as people managers.
To complete the Associate Diploma in People Management you must complete the following seven units:
- Organisational performance and culture in practice
- Evidence-based practice
- Professional behaviours and valuing people
- Employment relationship management
- Talent management and workforce planning
- Reward for performance and contribution
- Leadership and management development
Assessment Methods
A range of assessment methods drawn from the CIPD National Assessment Bank will be utilised. Assessments required for each unit which will be organisational and HR related.
Assessment for the CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma in People Management is employer-driven and aimed at real scenarios that learners may encounter in their future career.
Course Update
Please note that due to ongoing major campus construction projects courses at Ballymena may be relocated to alternative suitable locations as required.
This qualification builds on CIPD Level 3 and extends a deeper level of understanding and application, naturally progressing learners’ existing HR expertise. Students are required to have a good level of written and spoken English and appropriate qualifications and experience to enter Level 5 study
As a guideline, you should possess:
CIPD Level 3 Certificate or Diploma in HR or equivalent
If this is not held learners should have a minimum of 2 A-levels Grade C or above and experience in an HR role.
You will be required to attend an interview.
Where mature students wish to have prior education and/or experience taken into account, in lieu of meeting the full course entry requirements, they should contact the relevant Course Director or Admissions by 12th August, as an application deadline will apply. It is at the College's discretion to consider APEL enquiries after the dates stated.
The Associate Diploma in People Management provides an opportunity to gain a professional level of CIPD membership through becoming an Associate member on successful completion of the programme. Learners may progress to other CIPD qualifications at Level 7 (currently not offered at the College) and be able to progress their career path upwards.
