Four engineering students from Northern Regional College have been named in the UK squad hoping to compete at the WorldSkills international finals in France next year. They are engineering students Charlie Carson, from Ballymoney, Jason Scott, from Tobermore and Luke Cassidy and Jude Moore, both from Garvagh. All four were medallists at WorldSkills UK national finals in the Robot Systems Integration category.

A special event to showcase Higher Level Apprenticeship opportunities at Northern Regional College generated great interest among school leavers exploring their career options. The event in The Braid, Ballymena, which was hosted by Northern Regional College with support from Mid & East Antrim Labour Market, Department for Communities and the Department for the Economy, was organised as part of NI Apprenticeship Week.

Open Days are the perfect way to learn more about all full-time and part-time courses and training opportunities at Northern Regional College. Just ask Adrian Jinariu, an Adult Care graduate from the College’s Newtownabbey campus. Originally from Transylvania in Romania, he arrived in Ireland as a teenager and following in an older brother’s footsteps who at the time was working as a chef in Dublin, Adrian qualified as a chef and worked in Michelin star restaurants in Belfast, Paris and London.

Ballymoney woman Sarah Holden has used her passion for sport and exercise to create an exciting new local business, SH Massage Therapy, which specialises sports massage, cupping, dry needling, and myofascial release. After completing A levels in Biology, Health and Social Care, and Physical Education, Sarah did a vocational course in Sports and Exercise Science at Northern Regional College’s Coleraine campus.
