Exciting new Football Development Programme launched at Northern Regional College

Northern Regional College has launched an exciting initiative to help aspiring young sportsmen and women fulfil their potential and pursue a career as professional athletes. The College’s unique Football Development Programme will be offered to all students at the Coleraine campus who are enrolled on the Level 3 Extended Diplomas in Sport and Exercise Sciences and Sports Coaching and Development, as well as students doing a Foundation Degree in Sports Science, Coaching and Fitness.

Northern Regional College’s new Coleraine campus – which is currently still under construction – has been deemed Highly Commended at the Martin Barnes NEC Awards in the ‘Contract Innovation of the Year’ category. The international awards, run by the NEC – a division of the Institution of Civil Engineers – recognise excellence in project delivery and showcase examples of good practice through collaboration from across the world.

A Foundation Degree in Construction at Northern Regional College can provide a pathway to a challenging and interesting career in the construction sector, according to Ballymoney woman, Joanne O’Boyle. Joanne, who is employed as an Estimating Assistant with Heron Bros., was awarded a Foundation Degree (validated by Ulster University) in Construction with Surveying at the College’s recent Higher Education graduation ceremony.

HND proves to be a stepping-stone to second year of Degree Programme

Completing a HND at Northern Regional College has allowed a young Belfast woman to progress directly second year of her university degree. Sophie Briers (24) from North Belfast did a Level 5 Higher National Diploma in Creative Media (Web and App Development) at the College’s Newtownabbey campus.

Stacey Burns, a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care student, has graduated from Northern Regional College’s Ballymena campus. Outlining her pathway to success, Stacey she received so much support from her tutors during her Access Course that she decided to complete a Level 5 Course.
