Jacqui McAllister, who has been teaching at the College for 20 years, was nominated for both Inspirational Teacher and Inspirational Woman in the Firmus Energy/Local Women Inspirational Women of the Year Awards 2022. For Jacqui, however, the two nominations and award are recognition not just for her, but her colleagues.

Founded in 2020 and headed up by a small team with decades of experience in digital, GetSociable is creating a one-stop-shop marketing technology (MarTech) platform for businesses in the hospitality, leisure, tourism and creative industries.

Three Northern Regional College teams competed in the ‘passive stage’ of this year’s UK National WorldSkills industrial robotics competition which took place on Thursday 5th May and Friday 6th May at the College’s Farm Lodge campus in Ballymena. WorldSkills UK is a competition-based development programme, designed by industry experts, to enhance the practical skills and knowledge taught on training courses. The skills competitions assess employability attributes against set criteria in a competitive environment. The programme has a positive impact on competitors with 90% of previous entrants saying their career progression improved after competing.

Northern Regional College’s Student Services Team is joining the Darkness Into Light challenge taking place at sunrise on the morning of Saturday 07 May 2022. The Darkness Into Light challenge began in 2009, with just 400 people walking through Dublin’s Phoenix Park in solidarity with those experiencing dark times. The challenge has now expanded beyond humble beginnings, annually taking place in multiple locations across the globe.
