Northern Regional College students compete in national UK Skills Industrial Robotics Competition

Engineering students from Northern Regional College’s Ballymena Campus took part in the national UK Skills Industrial Robotics Competition. The second stage of the competition took place in Farm Lodge over two days. A total of twelve students from a variety of engineering courses, including Level 3 Extended Diploma, Higher Level Apprenticeship and Foundation Degree, participated in the competition where they performed an offline programming task set and assessed by FANUC Ltd.

The Gallaher Trust Launches Scholarship Scheme for Northern Regional College Students

BALLYMENA students hoping to study highly “sought after subjects” at Northern Regional College could find themselves benefitting from The Gallaher Trust’s Scholarship Scheme, totalling £30,000 to be spent over the next three years, which was recently launched in conjunction with the College.

Northern Regional College Offers Alternative Pathway to University

A young Ballymoney student who opted to do a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment at Northern Regional College instead of completing her A levels at schools, feels she made the right decision as it was a much better preparation for university.

The Department for the Economy today has launched a public appointment competition to recruit 32 governing body members across five further education colleges. Commenting on the competition and inviting applications from all sections of the community Economy Minister Gordon Lyons said: “This is an exciting and significant opportunity to influence the provision of education and skills in Northern Ireland. The successful candidates will help us to support the economic recovery post Covid-19 and sustain our aim of building a modern economy, which includes supporting the most disadvantaged by ensuring access to learning that leads to sustainable career pathways.

The exceptional achievements of Northern Regional College student Casey Doran have been celebrated as she was awarded the prestigious Silver BTEC Award for Child, Health and Social Care Learner of the Year 2021. The Ballymoney student’s hard work and dedication was celebrated at the 11th anniversary of Pearson’s annual BTEC Awards hosted online on 7th July 2021. Casey, who is undertaking a BTEC Level 3 in Childcare, said she was “over the moon” to have been nominated for such a prestigious and competitive award.

The exceptional achievements of Northern Regional College lecturer Siobhan McEldowney have been celebrated as she was awarded the prestigious Bronze BTEC Award for Tutor of the Year 2021. As a lecturer in Health and Social Care, Siobhan has over 20 years of teaching experience and was recognised by her colleagues for her passion and drive to support learners. The Maghera woman’s hard work and dedication was celebrated at the 11th anniversary of Pearson’s annual BTEC Awards hosted online on 7th July 2021.
