With 3As, 4Bs and 3 Cs at GCSE, Cerys Lundy (18) could stayed on at school to do her A levels but instead she opted to do study Computer Science at Northern Regional College. Cerys, who is from Portstewart, completed a BTEC Extended Diploma in Computer Science at the College’s Coleraine campus with triple Distinction*, the highest possible grade and the equivalent of three A*s at A level. She has now secured a place on the five year Computer Science Masters course at Queen’s University, Belfast which includes a year professional experience.

Students who completed the Foundation Diploma in Art, Design & Media Practice at Northern Regional College have maintained the course’s 100% success rate. For the past six years, anyone who completed the course at the College in Ballymena secured up to five university offers with most of them getting an offer from their first choice university.

Going to college is so much easier when you enjoy what you’re studying as Ballyclare student, Hannah Wilson discovered. Hannah has just completed a Level 3 Diploma in Animal Management at Northern Regional College and in September hopes to progress and do a HND in Animal Management.

After leaving school, Rachel Rose Mallon from The Loup enrolled at the College’s Magherafelt campus. She completed two of the College’s Inclusive Learning programmes - Aspire to Work and Work Ready - before progressing to Level 2 Technical Business and has just successfully completed the second year of the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business.

When he left school with nine GCSEs and two A levels, Bobbie Currie from Coagh worked in retail for a number of years before taking up a full-time position as Home Administrator in a care home in 2018. At the time, he had no long term career plans but working alongside the carers and nurses inspired him to consider a nursing career.
