A Coleraine man who was the first apprentice taken on by Engineering Consultants AGR Automation, has graduated with a Foundation Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Caleb Haines was conferred with the award, which was part of his Higher Level Apprenticeship (HLA), at Northern Regional College’s Higher Education graduation at Galgorm’s Great Hall.

Frances Hilditch and her husband Stephen from Coleraine made a happy couple as they graduated together at Northern Regional College’s winter graduation ceremony held at The Great Hall at Galgorm. The pair, both teachers, achieved a Level 4 qualification in Supporting Children and Young People with Autism Spectrum Conditions.

Three students from Northern Regional College have been voicing and producing adverts for Coleraine Business Improvement District’s (BID) new radio station: ‘Our Coleraine’. Hana Jamieson, aged-18 from Ballynure, and Josh Lynas, also 18 from Belfast, have been putting their Performing Arts studies into action by providing the voiceover for a number of radio adverts, whilst Interactive Media student Benn Cox, aged 23, has been producing the adverts, including writing original backing music and editing the final output.

David Watson, Managing Director of Ryobi Aluminium Casting (UK) Ltd., has received an Honorary Fellowship from Northern Regional College. He is one of four renowned individuals to receive the honour who have had an impact upon the College and the local community. The other recipients are: Katie Mullan of Ireland’s women’s national field hockey team; Gail Redmond, Women’s Domestic Manager for the Irish FA Foundation; and Jimmy Kelly, former Training and Development Manager at RLC Langford Lodge.
