Hairdressing students at Northern Regional College heard first-hand what it is like to live with alopecia totalis, a condition which causes total hair loss. Lisa Moore, who is originally from Greenlough and now lives in Portglenone, visited the College's campuses in both Ballymena and Magherafelt and spoke to hairdressing students about her experience of losing all her hair as a young child and how it had impacted on her life.

For the third consecutive year, Northern Regional College will be represented in Industrial Robotics category at the WorldSkills UK national finals. Hannah Currie from Randalstown and Peter O’Neill from Ballymoney, both Foundation Degree in Engineering at the College in Ballymena, secured their spot by impressing judging in the Northern Ireland regional qualifying rounds to finish among the top eight in the UK.

Jamie Matthews (17) from Ballyclare, who is a Level 2 bench joinery apprentice at the College’s Newtownabbey campus, is employed by leading luxury fit-out and bespoke joinery company, Mivan in Antrim. He came through the Northern Ireland regional finals with flying colours to finish among the top eight in the UK and qualify for the national finals.
