Animation Students Shortlisted for Royal Television Society NI Student Awards

Wednesday

Two talented young animators who completed a BTEC Level 3 in Animation at Northern Regional College in Coleraine have been shortlisted for the prestigious Royal Television Society NI Student Awards. Lyndsay Clarke and Phillip Steele’s short animation ‘Backed into a Corner’ was completed in collaboration with Coleraine PSNI and designed to raise awareness about child abuse.

Animation lecturer at the College, Peter McMullan said he was delighted that Lyndsay and Phillip’s hard work had paid off and they’d been selected as finalists.

“Lyndsay and Phillip worked really hard to complete this project as part of their BTEC Diploma and they’ve both progressed to Ulster University to study animation.”

‘Backed into a Corner’ combines 3D Animation and 2D Animation using industry standard applications like Autodesk 3ds Max, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe After Effects, which are industry standard applications.
