Martina Tretkowska has graduated from Northern Regional College’s Newtownabbey campus where she studied Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Children’s Care Learning and Development. The Antrim student reflected on her time at Northern Regional College, describing it as “fantastic”.

“During my first year at Northern Regional College, we were battling with the Covid-19 pandemic and were being taught online. That was a difficult transition for everyone to make.

“But I found the lecturers to be so helpful and generous with their time if students ever needed additional support.

“My second year has saw us return to face-to-face teaching which was just fantastic. It was great to get back on campus and study alongside my classmates.”

Reflecting on her plans for the future, Martina feels that her time at the College has been helpful in leading her to where she wants to go to next.

“I am hoping to go on to study Nursing at either Ulster University or Queen’s University Belfast.

“The course I have completed here at the College has given me the insight and understanding into pursuing a career in paediatric nursing,” she said.

Northern Regional College offers a range of full time and part time higher education courses.

Qualifications include Higher Level Apprenticeships (HLAs), Foundation Degrees, Higher National Certificates/Diplomas and Degrees. The College also offers an Access to University course which provides mature students with an alternative progression route to higher education.
