Two females at graduation ceremony

Newtownabbey student, Molly Jamison's decision to pursue her performing arts education at Northern Regional College has culminated in an exciting film opportunity, proving that staying local can lead to extraordinary career paths.

After completing her Level 3 Performing Arts Practice at the College's Newtownabbey campus, Molly is now graduating with an HND in Performing Arts and preparing to star in an upcoming local feature film, 'The Phoenix', set for release in the new year.

Remarkably, Molly turned down a prestigious place at Italia Conti drama school in Surrey, choosing instead to continue her education at Northern Regional College - a decision she absolutely does not regret.

Molly said, "The flexibility and support I've received here have been incredible. The college has worked around my auditions, helped me perfect my performances, and provided an environment where I could truly develop as an artist. They've been instrumental in preparing me for my professional career."

Gemma McGranaghan, who was Molly’s Course Coordinator of Performing Arts at the time, praised Molly's journey: "Molly exemplifies the exceptional talent we nurture here. Her commitment, combined with our industry-focused approach, has positioned her perfectly for professional success. We're immensely proud of her achievements and excited about her upcoming film role."

Molly's journey began when she consciously chose to leave traditional academic education, seeking a more performance-focused learning environment. "Being on stage gives me confidence," she said. "Northern Regional College provided exactly the supportive, creative space I needed to grow both as a performer and an individual."

The college's commitment to practical, industry-relevant training has been crucial in Molly's development, allowing her to build a comprehensive showreel and network of industry connections.

For aspiring performers, Molly has a clear message: "If you're serious about performing arts, Northern Regional College is the place to be. The support, opportunities, and industry insights are unparalleled."

This year, hundreds of students graduated from the College’s programs, showcasing the transformative power of education in shaping their future.

Northern Regional College remains committed to delivering high-quality education and nurturing talent, preparing students for meaningful contributions to society and the economy.
