The Electrical Installation course Northern Regional College’s Newtownabbey campus is to benefit from sponsorship from Core Electrical Distribution – a Northern Ireland based specialist cable management company – and Gripple, a supplier of new Fast-Trak brackets and wire system to building developments. The College’s Electrical Installation course combines the practical hands-on experience of the workplace with the knowledge, skills and understanding gained in the classroom and workshops enabling the students to become a fully qualified electricians upon completion.

In what will be the beginning of an ongoing partnership with the College, both companies will provide free supplies to assist with the curriculum delivery, with the students being first to use the new Gripple Fast-Trak within a college environment.

They will also supply the College with materials to enhance delivery to all years in the apprenticeship programme and will involve showcasing the latest technology and the possibility for CPD training for the electrical installation team.

Adrian McGarrity, Managing Director at Core Electrical Distribution, said: “Our overall aim is to give back to the community. We recognise that the talent of tomorrow is studying at Northern Regional College, so this strategic partnership gives students the opportunity to become familiar with the latest technologies ahead of graduating and entering the world of work.

“We hope to continue this strong, mutually beneficial relationship with the College for many years to come.”

Ed Stubbs, Managing Director at Gripple, said: “We put community outreach at the centre of our company ethos. This is our first time partnering with Northern Regional College but we believe that working closely alongside young talent is the best way to remain an innovative manufacturer.”
