Northern Regional College offers career opportunities for all

Wednesday

Northern Regional College offers a range of inclusive learning programmes to help prepare students with learning difficulties or disabilities for the world of work or further education courses. Inclusive programmes on offer at Ballymoney include Lifeskills, Transition2College, Aspire2Work and Route2Work. These programmes are tailored to meet the needs and abilities of students to help them gain essential skills in literacy, numeracy and ICT, as well as employability, social and vocational skills. With high student to lecturer ratios and opportunities to participate in work experience, the courses can provide a stepping stone to employment opportunities.

Lifeskills student William McCosh attends the College two days a week, balancing this with a part-time job at in the Magherabouy Hotel where he has worked for over 14 years, prepping vegetables in the hotel’s busy kitchen and assisting with portering duties.

Northern Regional College’s Ballymoney campus will hold an Open Day on Thursday 7 February from 4pm to 8pm, and on Saturday 9 February from 10am to 1pm. Open Days are a great opportunity to visit the College and find out more about the courses and facilities on offer. Information will be available on Training/Apprenticeships, GCSE equivalent courses (Level 2 BTEC Diploma) and A Level equivalent courses (Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma), as well as higher education courses including Foundation Degrees and Higher Level Apprenticeships. Staff will be available to provide advice and guidance on student finance, education support, careers and the online application process.
