“The entire rehearsal process leading up to our recent end of year show was amazing and taught me so much I didn’t know about acting. It has allowed me to grow not only as an actor but also as a person.
“As the performance is recorded, I am able to use clips from it for my showreel and I can send to casting agents, directors, and assistants. I am very thankful and grateful to say that I have achieved what I wanted and am very excited to move forward.”
After achieving the highest possible results in her performance this year, Molly highlighted her plans for the next academic year: “Next year I will be continuing onto the HNC course of performing arts at Northern Regional College. I was planning to go to drama school to study acting, but I decided to wait a year until I am fully ready to leave home.”
The Performing Arts students carried out their end of year performances at The Brian Friel Theatre in Belfast and had their first live audience since 2019. Molly played Ann Putnam and Judge Danforth in the College’s production of ‘The Crucible’ by Arthur Miller.
Gemma McGranaghan, Course Coordinator of Performing Arts Department of Creative Industries at Northern Regional College said: “It was so good to be back in a theatre performing again and the experience the students had was indescribable.
“We are very lucky to have industry professionals teaching on the course and the live experience they share with the students supports them in their preparations for the industry. All three groups of students worked extremely hard, with the staff, to produce three fantastic performances. We are very proud of all of our students and are excited for their future performances.”
