The Careers Fair is an opportunity for the College to showcase the range of HE Health and Social Care courses available at both the Newtownabbey and Magherafelt campuses. These include Access Diploma in Social Sciences, Foundation Degrees in Health and Social Care and Early Childhood Studies. Many former students have used these courses as their progression route to university to study Nursing, Social Care or other related subjects.
Representatives from Queen’s University College, Stranmillis University College and Ulster University will be at both events, joined by representatives from universities in England, Scotland & Wales, including Liverpool John Moores University, Dundee University, Cumbria University and Doncaster University.
Sixth formers attending the Careers Fair will have an opportunity to speak to university representatives on a one-to-one basis. There will also be advice from childcare organisations; health and social care stakeholders and the College’s own experts to offer advice on student finance and access to learning support.
Students can also avail of introductory training on Heart Start First Aid and CPR.

“Our Health and Social Care staff and Childcare staff have a wealth of experience and expertise to share with prospective students on the many opportunities for career progression and educational development. We are looking forward to having two very productive and enjoyable sessions at our Newtownabbey and Magherafelt campuses.
“All local sixth formers are invited to attend the careers fair with their teachers but to avoid disappointment, it is important that schools book a time slot for their students to attend as soon as possible.”
