Performing Arts and Music students at Northern Regional College’s Ballymoney campus have pooled their talents to stage a memorable end of year showcase event. The entertaining programme included original music penned by students, covers of hits from popular musicals like Phantom of the Opera, Fame, The Greatest Show and Mama Mia, as well as comedy and dance routines.

Northern Regional College’s Newtownabbey and Ballymena campuses recently hosted its Creative Industries Showcase at The Theatre at the Mill, Newtownabbey. The event was a showcase of courses within the creative industries and student work, whilst also providing an opportunity for talent scouts, industry guests and press to meet with staff and students, allowing them to experience the College’s creative talents.

Engineering lecturers at Northern Regional College have acknowledged the significant contribution of the recently retired Training and Development Manager at Langford Lodge Engineering Company. Jimmy Kelly retired in March this year after 37 years with the Crumlin based precision engineering company.

Northern Regional College engineering student Tahnee O’Hara has secured a coveted place on the inaugural CDE Talent Camp. Originally from Australia but living in Ardboe for the past two years, Tahnee is doing a Level 3 Diploma in Engineering at the College’s Magherafelt campus. The summer camp will run from 24th - 28th June 2019 at CDE’s state of the art headquarters in Cookstown. At the end of the camp, two of the twenty participants will be offered a paid internship with the company.

Level 3 second year Performing Arts students from Northern Regional College’s Newtownabbey campus recently showcased their end-of-year performance at the Theatre at the Mill in Newtownabbey. The sold-out performance was part of the College’s Creative Industries Showcase, an end of year showcase of courses and student work which spans the industries of: Animation & VFX, Art & Fashion, Creative Media Production, Interactive Digital Media, Digital Games Design and Performing Arts.
