A Belfast mother, only has ‘good words’ to say about her daughter, Paris’s experience and journey at Northern Regional College. Paris is a graduate from the Foundation Degree in Health & Social Care at the College and having completed the associated ‘top up’ year to be awarded the BSc (Hons) in Health & Wellbeing is now in her first year of a Degree in Social Work at Ulster University.

Students from Northern Regional College took part in The Construction Industry Training Board NI (CITB NI) annual SkillBuild NI Finals 2023 competition at NWRC, Greystone Campus, Limavady. The competition is designed to test skills, technique, ability within tight timeframes, and identifies the top performers in 11 different trade areas within construction apprenticeship programmes from across Northern Ireland. It is a showcase of the wealth of talent, professionalism, and the brightest recruits throughout the industry.

Northern Regional College engineering students, Charlie Carson and Jason Scott, have qualified to represent Team UK in the Robot Systems Integration category at EuroSkills in Gdansk, Poland. This Autumn, the UK is set to make a triumphant return to compete at EuroSkills, Europe’s largest skills event, which is taking place in Poland for the first time.

Local stakeholders were invited to view the progress of construction at Northern Regional College’s new Ballymena campus. The new state-of-the-art 16,900m2 campus will consolidate the College’s Ballymena provision, catering for around 1,800 learners. It will provide world-class facilities, enabling the delivery of training, skills and education. Fully funded by the Department for the Economy, the new £40 million campus forms part of a wider £85 million capital investment to provide new campuses for the College in both Coleraine and Ballymena. Studying construction at Northern Regional College was the right decision one for Jack Neill, a young Coleraine man employed as a Higher Level Apprentice with Herons Bros Ltd., the main contractor for the College’s new landmark campus in the town. With 6 GCSEs under his belt and an interest in working in the construction industry, Jack explains that while he was keen to continue his studies, he was never a fan of exams.
