A preview of the world-class learning environment planned for Northern Regional College’s new Coleraine campus was provided to invited guests during a recent site visit. Fully funded by the Department for the Economy, the new £40 million campus forms part of a wider £85 million capital investment to provide new campuses for the College in both Coleraine and Ballymena. Heron Bros is the main contractor for both projects.

Earlier this year, the team delivered accredited training programmes, including Basic Food Hygiene, Health & Safety for Construction, Barista training and employability workshops for the Coleraine based charity, Vineyard Compassion.

Northern Regional College computing students were among the bright young stars recognised at the Young Enterprise Northern Ireland 2023 glittering awards ceremony. The students’ fledging business, AdjeTech, which produced and sold 3D memorabilia, was presented with a Special Recognition Award in the Start Up category - one of just two awards presented to FE Colleges and universities on the night.
Continue ReadingAmy Morrow, a 19-year-old student studying Creative Media Practice at Northern Regional College, has quickly emerged as a leader and a champion for social justice and equality. The former Coleraine Grammar School student was elected as a class representative in her first year at the College, demonstrating her natural leadership abilities. She then applied for the role of LGTQIA officer, a position that she continues to hold, to advocate for the rights and equality of the College’s LGBTQIA+ community.
Continue ReadingAs part of the Department for the Economy’s ‘Bring IT On’ initiative, Northern Regional College welcomed pupils from local secondary schools to its Farm Lodge campus in Ballymena for an IT Open Day. Bring IT On was formed to address the skills shortage and employability issues within Northern Ireland’s IT sector to ensure that there is a pipeline of skilled talent fit for industry needs. The event, fully funded by ‘Bring IT On’ and organised by Northern Regional College’s IT lecturer Emma Butler, included a range of practical workshops led by IT sector experts as well current and former students.
