A Belfast mother of two who completed an Access to University Diploma at Northern Regional College will embark on the next stage of her educational journey in September when she begins an Adult Nursing undergraduate degree at Queen’s University.

Northern Regional College (NRC) students were recently recognised for their talent in Games, Animation and VFX at the inaugural NextGen Graduate Showcase in Northern Ireland, held in partnership with Northern Ireland Screen. 18 students from NRC were invited to the showcase, which serves as a testament to their achievements over their two years studying Digital Games Development.

Continue ReadingAfter leaving school in June 2023, Ballymena teenager Taylor Stewart was unsure what to do next. He had no clear career goal but since the idea of working in the construction sector appealed to him, he went along to an Open Day at Northern Regional College to explore his options. Now, almost a year on, Taylor has found his niche. Having signed up for a NI Traineeship in Brickwork at the College in September 2023, he has almost completed the first year of the two-year course. He loves what he is doing and is totally focussed on completing his Level 2 Brickwork traineeship. Taylor is also completing Essential Skills qualifications in Maths and ICT and, when he completes Level 2, hopes to progress to Level 3.

A talented young hairdressing student at Northern Regional College has ambitious plans to manage her own salon. In pursuit of her goal, Katie Smyth from Ballyronan, enrolled at the College’s Magherafelt campus to do a Level 2 traineeship as a stepping stone to progressing to Level 3 and, in the longer term a career as a professional hairdresser.
