A talented young apprentice joinery from Coleraine is hoping to follow in the footsteps of one of his mentors at WhiteRocks Cabins in Portrush. Jeremiasz Guzik, who is an apprentice at Northern Regional College, was placed first in the Site Carpentry category at the recent Skillbuild NI Regional competitions.

In a remarkable display of dedication and hard work, a local student has ascended to the top of their class, earning accolades and recognition from both peers and lecturers. Michael Kearney, a young Castledawson student completed a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business at Northern Regional College and has graduated from Ulster University with a first-class honours in Business Studies and achieved top in his class of 150 students.

Northern Regional College is opening the doors of its Causeway Campus on Tuesday 27 August to the public, for a ‘sneak peek’ of the stunning innovative learning space in Coleraine. Set to open to students for 2024/25 academic year, the 12,600 m2 new purpose-built campus is in the heart of the Coleraine community, and will deliver a widened curriculum for school-leavers, adult learners and business professionals in Coleraine and the wider area.

Principal & Chief Executive, Mel Higgins; Chief Operating Officer, Sean Laverty and Herons Bros. Construction Director, Karl McKillop met on campus to mark the occasion and exchange the proverbial keys.

Northern Regional College had the pleasure of hosting a WorldSkills International Pressure Test (IPT) for the Robot Systems Integration Skill within the Farm Lodge campus, Ballymena. The competition took place in the centre of the campus where visitors and students alike congregated and observed the competitors at work. Participating in this competition were two College competitors, Jason Scott and Charlie Carson representing the UK, as well as Nico Reif and Fabian Weber representing Austria.
